Zeke Petrie, a member of the Lake Anna YMCA, has a unique story to tell.  The short version is that he is a Type 1 diabetic and has a benign brain tumor. But, that's pages away from the ending.

In 2013, Zeke became the first Ohioan to push a friend in a wheelchair 26.2 miles at the Akron Marathon. He also completed the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon in 2016.

Zeke’s next goal is to compete in the 100 mile trail race at the Burning River 100 in July. He said he would be the first diabetic with a brain tumor to ever complete this race.

The YMCA has provided a place to work out and stay in shape which is vital to me,” said Zeke. “It benefits me not just in training for races but more importantly for my overall health.”
